What I Carry in My Golf Bag (And Why I Chose Each Club)
Your golf bag says a lot about how you play—and how you feel on the course.
Over time, I’ve learned that the best setup isn’t about carrying what’s trendy or what a tour pro uses. It’s about choosing clubs that give you confidence, forgiveness, and flexibility—especially on days when your swing isn’t perfect.
Here’s what I currently carry, and why each piece earned its spot in my bag.
The Woods: Confidence First, Always
Driver — TaylorMade Qi35 Max Lite
This driver is all about forgiveness and ease. I like knowing I can swing freely without feeling punished for slight misses. It launches easily, feels stable, and gives me confidence standing on the tee—especially on tighter holes.
3-Wood — TaylorMade Qi35 3‑Wood
5-Wood — TaylorMade Qi35 5‑Wood
These are my go-to clubs when I want distance without stress. They’re reliable off the deck and feel predictable, which matters more to me than squeezing out a few extra yards.
Hybrids: My Safety Net
4-Hybrid & 5-Hybrid — Titleist GT Hybrid
Hybrids are non-negotiable in my bag. They bridge the gap between woods and irons and give me options when conditions aren’t ideal. These are especially clutch on longer approaches or tricky lies where irons feel like a gamble.
Irons: Clean, Forgiving, and Consistent
6-Iron to Pitching Wedge — Titleist T200
The T200s strike a perfect balance for me—clean look, forgiving performance, and consistent distance. They feel solid without being intimidating, which helps me commit to shots instead of second-guessing.
Wedges: Trust Inside 100 Yards
52° & 56° — Vokey Design
These wedges cover everything I need around the green. I rely on them for approach shots, chips, and bunker play. Familiar feel matters more than variety here—I want to know exactly what the ball will do when I open the face or take something off.
Putter: Feel Over Everything
Putter — Scotty Cameron Phantom 7.5
This is the one club I’ll never compromise on. Putting is personal, and this putter gives me the feedback and alignment I need to stay calm on the greens. When the putter feels right, the rest of the round usually follows.
The Bag: Practical + Personal
Bag — Vessel Pink Bag (Breast Cancer Awareness Association)
This bag means something to me. It’s clean, functional, and thoughtfully designed—but the pink color and Breast Cancer Awareness connection make it personal. It’s a reminder that golf bags can carry meaning, not just clubs.
Headcovers: Where Funday Golf Comes In
My Funday Golf headcovers live on my woods—not just for protection, but because they make my bag feel like mine.
They:
-
Protect my clubs
-
Reduce bag clatter
-
Add personality without being loud
I like gear that doesn’t take itself too seriously but still performs. That balance is kind of the whole point.
Final Thought
My bag isn’t built for perfection—it’s built for confidence.
Every club is there because it helps me:
-
Swing freely
-
Recover from mistakes
-
Enjoy the round, even when I’m not playing my best
Golf is already challenging enough. When your setup supports you instead of pressuring you, the game becomes a lot more enjoyable.
And honestly?
That’s when I play my best.
